The work “Boosco Deleitoso” presents several challenges for scholars of the so-called “archaic” period of the Portuguese language. The most apparent is the dating of its writing. When comparing the year of its printing, 1515, with the linguistic marks of the text, several authors, such as Vasconcelos (1956) and Caravalho (2002) point out the “Boosco Deleitoso” as belonging to a much earlier linguistic period. In the open, there is a more precise dating than the end of the 14th century or the beginning of the 15th, as both authors propose. In this article, we chose the phenomenon of rotacism to seek more information about the time of its writing.
